Community endeavours


WTM's youth and community outreach work is an integral part of our business and something that we're truly proud of. A percentage of profit generated by our race team is reinvested in free and subsidised city and country 'drive safe' programs for the community, aiding junior and senior drivers.

In 2008 Honda Australia Road Training (HART) and Rotary Youth Driver Awareness (RYDA) formed an association sponsored by BOC Gases aimed at educating Year 10 students. Using both theory and on road examples, its purpose is to raise awareness of driving hazards, advise on ideal driving behavior and highlight possible emergency situations that students may encounter.

In 2009 Youth Off The Streets (YOTS) started an initiative to provide disadvantaged youth with the means to accumulate the requisite 120 hours of supervised driving for L-platers in a safe and controlled environment. Helping these people to obtain their driver's license gives them greater opportunity to be gainfully employed and live a life others take for granted.

The WTM team also leverages our significant media presence to give exposure to charitable organisations and community endeavours. Our drivers stand up as great role models for kids, promoting good eating habits, a drug-free lifestyle and positive life choices.

Environmental considerations


While motor racing is undeniably a carbon-intensive, fuel-dependent sport, we are particularly proactive about doing what we can to reduce our carbon footprint and promote awareness of environmental considerations. Raising everyday consciousness is high on our list of priorities.

We actively seek out corporate partners and sponsors who are leading the way in the pursuit of a greener planet. For example we like to align ourselves with suppliers of solar energy and other renewable energy sources, along with companies from any sector which are recognised for their green approach.
